Everyone has old clothes they don't use or wear and one student took it upon herself to find a use for unworn clothing and create sustainable furniture from them.
Anna Herrmann is a product design student who wanted to find a sustainable way to take her old clothes and transform them into long-lasting products that people could use and enjoy for a long time. She created '50 DENS,' a project creating a new product with ordinary objects, taking their traits and seeing them in a different, more useable context.
Anna took her old tights (which can't be resold and lack any sentimental value) and created sustainable furniture in the form of a chair. Creating value from old material, she wove the material into a seat and back support for the chair, making use of a previously disposable commodity.
