Surface Magazine Imagines Weed as a Common Grocery Store Product

The day for cannabis lovers is here and to celebrate Surface Magazine asked a few design firms to envision a bright future for the medicinal and recreational product. This was achieved by imagining weed being sold as a common commodity like condiments or snacks. As people and brands continue to experiment with marijuana, these Surface Magazine concepts don't look too far off either.

By turning marijuana into actual brands, Surface Magazine and the participating design agencies shows just how ingrained it already is in our culture. Spencer Bailey, editor of Surface Magazine, explains why there's a "ripe opportunity in the weed trade to bring a design perspective to the table." He says, "So many of the existing brands look amateurish and as if they were launched out of a van, which some of them probably were."
