Wild Wide-Eyed Encounters

Suren Manvelyan Closely Captures Animals' Opticals

Surreal textures and colors define the animal photographs of Armenian photographer Suren Manvelyan. Similiar to his previous work on the human eye, Manvelyan's piece closely explores the astonishing beauty of animals' eyes.

In order to get the most mesmerizing ocular close-ups, the photographer experimented with animals such as a black rabbit, a tiger python (albino), a tiger python (not albino), a caiman, a crocodile and a Husky dog. The series is an enchanting discovery because, as opposed to humans, animals have the most intriguing colors and forms. Ice blue, vivid green and dark yellow are some of the range of pigments found. The intricate patterns found in this series by Suren Manvelyan come from both an explosion of light, like the Husky's eye, or a detailed handmade drawing, like the caiman.

The animal world never ceases to influence one's perceptions and ideas, from art to fashion, animals give us the most surprising and breathtaking forms, colors and patterns.
