Supermodel Band Covers

Gisele and Cara Trade in the Runway for Your Headphones

Model Gisele Bundchen tries her hand at singing for (Swedish) H & M’s new fall ad campaign. Bundchen has a rather thick Portugese accent, which certainly puts a new twist on the song- The Kink’s "All Day and All of the Night." Though she may not have the most talented pipes, Gisele’s attitude is most definitely infectious and the cover is very catchy! Paper Magazine decided to compare her singing chops to that of fellow model Cara Delevingne’s, who recently posted a video of her covering Klangkarussell’s "Sonnetaz (Sun Don’t Shine) with Will Heard. Delevingne and Heard put a new indie-vibe to the popular song. The magazine then reviewed the two model-turned-singers based on several different categories: vocal talent, attitude, performance and dance moves, wardrobe, production bells and whistles, song selection, and singing face. They’re verdict was ultimately Cara, but I’m going to have to give it to Gisele on this one (although I may be a bit biased because I’m a huge fan). Her cover is super fun and compelling, while Cara’s collaboration– though while harmonic and soothing – is a bit too subdued. Check it out for yourself!
