This Super Mario 3D Chalk Art Jumps Off the Street

Three-demensional artwork is often hard to produce perfectly, but for this artist, creating his 3D Super Mario Chalk Art piece seems to come naturally and with great precision.

Denver, Colorado, painter Chris Carlson has produced a four minute timelapse video of his recent sidewalk chalk drawing of the loveable character Super Mario. The video was shot over a period of 11 hours and features Chris drawing a 3D Super Mario jumping over an old-school Nintendo remote controller.

Starting from a simple square on the sidewalk, Chris uses a ruler to plan out his drawing and his fingers to blend the chalk smoothly. His personal blog contains many more 3D chalk drawings that equal the precision at which he draws the 3D Super Mario Chalk Art piece. Furthermore, the Super Mario music that accompanies the video is perfect!
