Heroic Golden Girls Mashups

The Hilarious Super Golden Friends Spoofs Iconic Superheroes

The ingenius mashup Super Golden Friends cleverly mixes Super Friends with The Golden Girls. It is surprising that this hilarious animated video, which was created by illustrator and art director Kevin Bapp, was not though of sooner. Bapp pays tribute to the two classic shows by creating a fictional series opening credits. In it, the characters Batman, Aquaman, Superman and Robin are entertainingly placed in the roles made famous by Golden Girls: Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty.

Bapp has managed to create a spot-on reanimation of the Golden Girls intro that is sheer brillance. And, nothing is more comical then seeing Superman choreographed to sashay down the hall perfectly mimicking Blanche. These cultural icons are blended together magnificently, and fans would definitely be pleased if this idea got picked up for a series.
