The Curtis Mayfield Estate is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Curtis Mayfield's iconic album 'Super Fly' with the launch of a limited-edition apparel collection and vinyl re-release. First released in 1972, Curtis Mayfield's Super Fly was the official soundtrack album for the eponymously named Blaxploitation film, which went on to become a cult classic.
In terms of apparel, the new collection features a hat, t-shirt, keychain, short-sleeve button-up, and a long-sleeve tee, all of which feature visual motifs from the film and album. Meanwhile, the re-released album comes in an exclusive gold version that will be sold at Walmart locations throughout the United States. In addition, the vinyl is a deluxe version that includes bonus tracks, a movie poster, photographs, and a turntable mat.
