Smartphone-Controlled Sunshades

The Sunbreak Building Sunshade Can Be Controlled Via a Mobile App

Sunbreak is an intelligent and automated sunshade prototype, dreamed up by NBBJ, that can be operated using a smartphone. NBBJ may have already designed buildings for Google Amazon and Samsung, the the company is looking to find ways to increase building occupants' control over their working environment.

Smart sunshades are not a completely new innovation, but what makes Sunbreak special is the fact that it could be smarter and greener than other shades in the way that it reacts to clouds and measures occupants' distance from the window. It has a three-hinged design that can automatically angle to bounce daylight further inside the office, but also lower the shades to block the sun.

The shades are essentially automatic but can also be controlled with an accompanying smartphone app.
