At first, I thought that the name of the Sugar Bowl Residence was truly inspired, but then learned that it was simply named after the old village it resides in. Yet the name is more informative than it first appears, signaling just how this stunning home's environment was and will continue to be.
Designed by John Maniscalco Architecture, the Sugar Bowl Residence is entirely a product of its environment. Constantly surrounded by mounds of snow (or 'sugar' if you will), it was inspired by a historical railroad avalanche shed as a precedent in order to survive even the most dangerous of snow events.
The use of polished cedar wood and tempered glass gives the home an elegant and refined presence amidst its white surroundings.
