From inverted boxes with folded wing things to disembodied dolls, knitting needles, fabric-covered slinky snoods and a plastic LEGO character wig, no bit of weirdness -- or maybe it was creativity -- was left unexplored.
Even men were not exempted from this phenomenon of strange hats. There was a Dr. Seuss-like bowler that should have entitled the model extra compensation for the sheer embarrassment of having to wear it.
