The Body Shop's Store Refill Scheme Supports a Circular Economy

The Body Shop is rolling out a store refill scheme, starting this year and extending to 2022, that will help to support environmentally minded consumers who want to reduce waste where possible. Lionel Thoreau, Global Brand Director, The Body Shop, says, "We want refills to become mainstream - easy and accessible to everyone. This is just our first step in a five-year plan to roll out refill stations across the globe."

The refill and recycling programs from The Body Shop help to reduce and eliminate waste thanks to refillable aluminum bottles that can be replenished in-store.

In addition to extending its in-store recycling scheme Return, Recycle and Repeat, The Body Shop is committed to achieving 100% Vegan Trademark certification from The Vegan Society across its products—currently, about 60% of The Body Shop products are vegan.
