This beautiful steamer kettle was dreamed up in response to a surprisingly small culture of green tea drinking in Europe. Designer Zhang Hongxin strove to rework the method of preparing the less-processed loose leaf blends with an appliance that marries science and art.
The product integrates a gorgeous glass bulb with a semispherical shape, which rests within a stainless steel base. The Dew Teapot is aesthetically enchanting as a droplet itself, seemingly orienting the vessel upside-down. This rearrangement actually supports a fresh means of steeping, by using water vapor and condensation to flavor and color the hot beverage. The new tea-making ritual inspired by this steamer kettle would be to watch the operation play out.
