Starbucks Debuts its Blockchain-Based Loyalty Program for Beta Testers

Starbucks is launching a new blockchain-based loyalty program called Starbucks Odyssey. The program, which will first be tested by a group of U.S. beta testers, transports Starbucks customers to a coffee-themed experience complete with NFTs, Starbucks Rewards, and Web3 technology like the polygon blockchain. ‘Starbucks Odyssey’ is a way for loyal customers to capitalize on a wider variety of rewards beyond the established system. Customers can participate in interactive ‘Journeys’ that, when finished, allow members to earn collectible ‘Journey Stamps.’

Members who collect 500 points will earn ‘Stamps’ which are coffee-themed NFTs hosted using Polygon’s blockchain technology. ‘Stamps’ can be redeemed for benefits such as online experiences, real-world experiences, and virtual coffee-making classes. U.S.-based beta testers will be emailed and given three days to respond if they are accepted into the beta program.
