Artist-Informed Graphic Tees

Uniqlo's New SPRZ NY Collection Features Warhol, Haring, and Basquiat

The newest SPRZ NY collection by Japanese lifestyle label Uniqlo was recently unveiled and as per usual, it features some iconic work by contemporary artists including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. The graphic tees boast some familiar prints that capture the visual spirit of each artist. 'SPRZ NY' references "Surprise New York" and it is an ongoing project that brings together the fusion of fashion and art through the medium of simplistic t-shirts.

It celebrates some of the aforementioned New York artists alongside Eames and Sol Lewitt as well. Some of the notable pieces include embroidered crown and dinosaur motifs referencing Basquiat and printed sketches alongside Haring's Statue of Liberty graphic from 1986. To celebrate the new launch, Uniqlo hosted an event with art installations and music in New York.
