The 'Sprout' Packaging Has an Organic Design Infused with Seeds

Single-use plastic packaging continues to be a big problem on a global scale, so the 'Sprout' packaging has been designed by Pat Mangulabnan as a way to help combat against it. The packaging is envisioned for use with a granola bar and is constructed using pineapple leaves to make it 100% biodegradable. The Pinyapel material is embedded with seeds that encourage consumers to plant the packaging after use to grow plants inside of the unit before being planted in the ground.

The 'Sprout' packaging is printed with organic soy ink to further enhance its eco-friendly nature and is paired with an edible starch wrapper for the snack within to further offer protection during the shipping process.
