Seiko Added the Spring Drive Movement System to Its Presage Watches

Seiko will make the Spring Drive Movement system available in its Presage line of watches. Seiko originally made the Presage line of watches after traditional Japanese craft influence combined with watchmaking. The watches with the enhanced movement system will be available in October for a $4,500 price point.

The caliber 5R65 Spring Drive movement system offers similar accuracy as Seiko's GS 9R65 movement system, The 5R65 has an accuracy measured at ±1 second per day, while the GS 9R65 system has ±0.5 seconds per day accuracy.

The updated line of Presage watches will feature a 40mm case that is referred to as "Super Hard." The watch also has a 72-hour power reserve as well as an enamel dial with Arabic numbering.
