Mobile Movie Apps (UPDATE)

The Spotlight Stories App for iPhone Released a Live-Action 'Help' Film

The 'Spotlight Stories' app provides users with a 360-degree movie watching experience that is fully interactive. Originally, the technology worked only with animation, however the app has now released a live-action movie titled 'Help' -- created by 'Fast and the Furious' director Justin Lin.

'Help' is a free five-minute movie that takes the viewer along for the ride in a high-paced chase scene. Creating the 360-degree virtual reality film took 13 months, 81 people and 15 million rendered frames, resulting in an incredible mini-action flick.

The technology allows the user to physically look left, right, up and down in order to expand and explore the movie world. Used with animation, Spotlight Stories engrosses the viewer in fantastical worlds. Pair that technology with live-action film and the viewer is immersed in a world that feels even more like reality.
