This Special Edition BMW Celebrates 50 Years Of Turbocharged Performance

German automaker BMW has gone ahead and launched a special edition BMW concept vehicle that is designed to pay homage to 50 years of turbocharged vehicles produced by the brand.

Inspired by the BMW M2, this particular vehicle is aptly dubbed the BMW 2002 Hommage, and was presented at the Pebble Beach auto show. The vehicle quite literally pays homage to the BMW 2002 turbo, a vehicle that was introduced in the early 1970s as BMW's first production vehicle with a turbocharged engine.

Accordingly, this special edition BMW features a retro paint job and design cues combined with a next-generation turbocharged engine, features that celebrate the brand's traditions while also showing off its industry-leading engine technology.
