Soup-Inspired Sandwiches

East Borough's Pho Baguette Saves You From Choosing a Soup or a Sandwich

Rather than having to choose between a soup or a sandwich for lunch, this Pho Baguette from the East Borough in Los Angeles gives you a taste of both.

The unusual hybrid sandwich by chef Chloe Tran combines the taste of a soupy pho broth with a baked banh mi sandwich. What you'll find on the inside of the sandwich are things that you'd normally find inside a pho soup, including beef, basil leaves and bean sprouts. The Pho Baguette is served with a side of pho soup for dipping and comes drizzled with a line of hoisin Sriracha aioli sauce. The sandwich is priced at $13, but it really is like getting the best of what Vietnamese cuisine has to offer in a single bite.
