This DIY Sound Dock Adds Ambiance to Your Music with No External Speakers

Anonymous South Korean blogger ‘Hobby Design’ makes a sound dock for an iPhone from scratch. Using nothing but concrete, the designer creates a sleek oval-shaped phone stand. Most sound docks are electrically constructed, with external speakers and plugs that connect to iPhone ports. But this do-it-yourself project enhances the depth of music in the most basic of ways—the enclosed concrete dock naturally amplifies noise ejected from the bottom of your iPhone.

The project itself is not completely beginner-friendly. It requires constructing the mold of the dock from scratch. Cement mix is then poured into the mold and left to dry. A hole is made on the back of wall the dock for USB or charging cables. The full step-by-step pictorial is posted on the Hobby Design blog.
