Sotheby's Black Jewelry Design Exhibit is an Anticipated Brand First

Journalist Melanie Grant has partnered with Sotheby's New York in a first-of-its-kind exhibition that will feature Black jewelry designers.

In an effort to promote a more diverse array of artists, the exhibition 'Brilliant and Black: A Jewelry Renaisaince' will feature 21 Black designers. These designers come from both the US and Europe and the exhibit will feature 60 unique pieces. The show is curated by Melanie Grant along with the help of Sotheby's jewelry director, Frank Everett.

The pieces start at USD 1,500, with the most expensive piece priced at one million dollars. Curator Melanie Grant believes that economic power leads to real change, and sees this exhibit as a historical moment in Sotheby's white-dominated history.
