Exposing Famous Flaws as Advertising

Sony Blue Ray HD Fly Ad is Absurd

This Sony Blue Ray HD player ad shows that you will be surprised with what high definition technology will reveal to you. To prove their point, they show an image of Marilyn Monroe with a fly in the place of her famous mole.

Now, I know that HD makes it harder for people to hide their flaws on camera, but this ad is totally absurd. The notion that Monroe’s mole is a fly that stays sitting on her face the whole time is just silly.

The ad was created by TBWA Perú with creative director and copywriter Cosi Santibañez in conjunction with art directors Celso Zelada and Carlos Pastor.
