Thai New Year's Parties

This Songkran Party Celebrates the Thai New Year in Toronto

Toronto restaurants Nana and Khao San Road are teaming up to throw a Songkran party. Songkran is a festival held every April that celebrates the Thai New Year. This year, Toronto's Thai community is celebrating with an all-you-can-eat dinner and an indoor water fight.

The Songkran party will be held at Nana on April 10th and April 11th. Those who purchase tickets will be treated to a traditional Thai dinner complete with chicken satay, fresh rolls, Kai Pad Prik Pao and Kua Gling pork ribs. After eating, guests will be invited to participate in an indoor water fight that is meant to mimic the cleansing ritual that is traditionally carried out at the start of the Thai New Year. This act is meant to help individuals rid themselves of any bad from the previous year so that they can start with a clean slate.

The event provides a fun and interactive way for Torontonians to ring in the New Year with the city's Thai community.
