Artful Meditative Performances

Solange Knowles' 'Metatronia' Art Piece Aids in Meditation

In partnership with Uniqlo, Solange Knowles' Metatronia has been unveiled at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles. The work of art is described as "an interdisciplinary performance piece and reflection featuring dance and sculpture" that explores Metatronia, an alternative therapy that involves vibrational sound healing and meditative movement.

Through Metatronia, Solange offers an exploration of creation, including an in-depth look at the process, as well as the intuitive forces that seem to offer guidance during a period of inspiration.

In 2017, Solange introduced a Musical Meditation performance piece that aimed to encourage mindfulness through music and community. Similarly, this new piece of work at the Hammer Museum also aims to provide therapeutic benefits for one's overall state of well-being through art in its many forms.
