'Diaspora' Set to Take Over Facebook in September 2010

New social network alternative, Diaspora, is set to take over Facebook on September 15, 2010. Created by four 'anti-Facebook' New York University students who believe that Facebook has done more harm than good to users within the social media world, their goal was to design a site more privacy-aware, open-sourced, and ultimately more personally-controlled.

Raising approximately $200,000 from online users, the social media gurus are gung-ho about making the site more intuitive for its users to share information with others. However, it is still unclear as to what design of this social network alternative, Diaspora, will look like. Could Diaspora really be the next Facebook?
