Invite-Only Change Conferences

The Social Innovation Summit Attempts to Create Large-Scale Impact

The annual Social Innovation Summit took place for two days at the end of May in New York City's General Assembly Hall of the United Nations. This year, speakers included actress Glenn Close, Oxfam America President Rooney Mara, Room to Read's John Wood and other Fortune 500 execs.

The conference is designed to specifically touch on the role of innovation and especially technological innovation in addressing global social change on a large scale. Interestingly enough, it's a private event that members must be invited to and thus operates on an elitist level while at the same time attempting to address what affects the masses.
