Internet-Enabled Outlets

The ConnectSense Smart Outlet is Compatible with HomeKit

GirdConnect introduced the ConnectSense Smart Outlet at CES 2015. The Wi-Fi-enabled outlet is compatible with Apple's HomeKit, meaning that iOS users will be able to use Siri to make voice commands, and that the device will be compatible with other HomeKit appliances.

Users can program the outlet to control appliances to their personal preferences, habits and routines. For instance, the light will turn on at the time they typically return home from work, or the shut will TV off around dinner or bedtime. These "rules" will allow homeowners to better manage their power consumption, and the GridConnect software will also provide helpful notifications to help cut corners where possible.

The ZigBee antenna and USB port also allow the ConnectSense Smart Outlet to become a hub for other devices.
