The Skyward House by Kazuhiko Kishimoto is Contemporary and Woodsy

The Skyward House might be a year-round residence, but it looks more like a modernized wood cabin, especially since it is surrounded on all sides by nature. The exterior might be made entirely out of wood, but that is as close to a cabin as it comes. In actuality, the Skyward House is incredibly contemporary. Sleek despite its organic appeal, the interior design reflects its true character.

Designed by Kazuhiko Kishimoto, the Skyward House is located in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan. Constructed out of horizontal cedar boards, it blends beautifully into the woodsy environment while providing protection from the busy street below. Although it might not look like it at first glance, the Skyward House boasts a lot of windows for natural lighting.
