Luxurious Sky-Inspired Fashion Projects

Skyfox by Emma Daley is Ethereal and Whimsical

Skyfox is the name of a collection by Emma Daley, a student at the Design Institute of Australia who was spotlighted in the latest Dezeen School Show. Inspired by the vast effects of the sky as it evokes various emotions in individuals throughout different times of day, Skyfox was recognized with the Australian Textile Design Graduate of the Year.

In her project, Emma Daley combines "gentle artesian techniques [like weaving and embroidery] with new technology." Materials that the emerging fashion designer and textile artist used in this project included satin and tulle. Emma Daley interpreted the natural wonder and emotional effects of the sky through line drawings. The hand-drawn patterns were later digitally printed onto the satin.
