Developed by Murilo Gomes and Guilherme Rodrigues, this invention costs next to nothing to maintain and is powered by Earth's elements themselves.

The contraption looks a little bit like a Nerf Vortex ball or a flying pinwheel. It holds steady above the ground thanks to a helium-filled compartment inside and glides gracefully through the air, spinning with each gust that blows across its curving fins. This very rotating motion is transmitted into energy which keeps the balloon's surface cool. The gaseous moisture that surrounds the Skydrops system condenses and the water is collected. The typical Brazilian climate could yield an estimated 50 liters of liquid each day.
