Underground Theme Parks

The Intercontinental Shimao Shanghai Wonderland is Futuristic

On the foot of Shanghai's Tianmashan, in a man-made valley, a new spacious theme park called Intercontinental Shimao Shanghai Wonderland is under development. It is also being built with a nineteen-storey underground hotel. Only three floors of this unbelievable hotel will be above ground, leaving the rest of the hotel in a pit.

An underground sleeping experience in this hotel is not enough, so the Shimao Shanghai Wonderland will add an underwater restaurant, a ten-meter-deep aquarium and an athletic water sports complex. This is just the start -- in the 100-meter-deep pit you'll also find 60-meter-tall glass curtains that resemble a waterfall. Surrounding cliffs will provide rock climbing and bungee jumping for visitors.

You can enjoy your vacation in this underground hotel in 2014-2015, for a price starting at $320 a night.
