lending a hand for art

Real life art is haunting and beautiful and NYC artist Michael Pharoah would likely agree with that. What started out as a bizarre hobby is now becoming a statement and opening up eyes on the withstanding problem of poverty and homelessness in America.

His collection of work, 'Sings of the Time,' has been recognized by local artists. Word of mouth about "the guy buying signs" has helped to engage the public in this universal problem.

Pharorah would offer people $20 per sign. He says, "They would all say yes and it touched me how grateful many people were when I bought their sign. I got several hugs and many "God Bless Yous… "Sign of the Times" is a reaction to a social injustice and tragedy. It’s a testimony to the homeless men and women who roam the streets in search of food and shelter"
Pharorah is doing a small thing with huge benefits bringing awareness to what most of us ignore everyday. Telling the stories of the impoverished living in New York City.
