The SignAloud Gloves Translates Gestures into Audio

Sign language is something people learn out of necessity and the SignAloud Gloves take this fact into account. This wearable tech essentially translates the gestural communication of the hearing impaired into audio clips in order for anyone to understand what he or she is saying. The SignAloud Gloves are an important device for such a handicap considering how difficult it already is to navigate through a life of sound without the ability to make any sense of it.

The SignAloud Gloves were created by a pair of undergraduates at the University of Washington. It not only won them a $10,000 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize, but also international attention. Although still in its prototype stage, the current results are more than promising.
