Retro Console Board Games

This Shogi Board Game is Designed in the Likes of Nintendo Game Boy

This Shogi board game is a modern take on an ancient Japanese tradition. The board game dates all the way back to the 16th century, but if you haven't heard of it, it's usually showcased at some point or another in a samurai or a kung-fu Hollywood movie.

This facelift is retro -- but it is definitely more modern than the 16th century. The Japanese gaming outfitters company 'den' created it to have miniature Nintendo Game Boys as board pieces. On every portable consoles's "screen" there is a printed Japanese character.

The craftsmanship that went into its making the pieces is outstanding and intricate and unfortunately makes for a big price tag. The game board is $1,200.
