Designer and creative mind Sandra Plantos put together a series of shoe sculpture dubbed 'Immovable Footwear' that are creatively made out of concrete and other heavy materials. While the shoes are creatively unwearable and too heavy to walk in, this exact point is self-reflexive asking the viewer to think about the accelerated pace their life is moving at and whether they should take some time to slow down.
The 'Immovable Footwear' sculptures came from a project Plantos worked on for the London College of Fashion. The collection features a series of four different shoe concepts made from items such as steel, wood and cast concrete to create shoes that are unusable due to their weight. The pieces offer a commentary on how fast consumers move in daily life.
