Swedish lighting company Gassling is releasing a range of 'shattered light bulbs' -- these light bulbs aren't actually shattered, they're designed to look that way. The pre-shattered light bulb design makes for a pretty awesome look reminiscent of those high-speed photographs showing a light bulb crashing to the ground and shattering into a hundred pieces.
Gassling's pre-shattered bulbs are made by 3D printing using a white nylon material. Ironically, the use of white nylon material means the 'pre-shattered' bulbs are pretty difficult to actually break and shatter.
The bulbs are designed to be larger than average bulbs so that their details are appreciable. They contain a six-watt LED bulb. They're not cheap however, and will cost upwards of $600.
