The designer of the Sero Smartphone concept went above and beyond in terms of the ideation and the development of this university assignment. Daniel Lau brainstormed unique hardware as well as software to represent what the consumer market may see in mobile phones about five years from now.
Deviating from the stiff rectangular form that has become the standard for handset design, Lau proposed a circular shape that would be no more difficult to hold in one's palm than current mobile devices. The disk form would enable the emission of 360-degree sound, and provide a convenient means for headphone cords to be wrapped around for storage. The Sero Smartphone would be topped off with crisp speakers, a lucid touchscreen display and a sharp built-in camera.
