BBC's Pop-Up Booth Lets Passersby Try on Augmented Reality Animal Masks

To promote the BBC Earth Experience, BBC Studios worked with independent agency Undercurrent to create an augmented reality selfie booth pop-up that lets users virtually try on animal masks.

This interactive pop-up gives people of all ages the chance to learn more about the newest attraction in London, all the while using playful animal filters that are mapped in real-time to their movements.

This pop-up shares not only technological feats but also sustainable ones, since the internal structure was thoughtfully constructed with reclaimed birch plywood panels and the outer component was coated in colorful, non-toxic and compostable paint. Damian Clarke, chief executive of Undercurrent, said, "Ensuring that we’re building an asset with maximum re-use in mind, but also delivering something that is biodegradable at the end of its lifespan."
