Talking Teddy Bear Installations

'T,ED' by Sean Hathaway is an Installation About Human Emotions

Sean Hathaway has created a room of 80 Teddy Ruxpin dolls that spew out real human emotions.

Entitled 'T,ED' for "Transformations, Emotional Deconstruction," Hathaway has created an interactive installation where he gathered people's emotion from the Internet and connected it through talking teddy bears. It's unnerving to hear a stuffed toy say such phrases as, "I feel like nobody is taking my feelings seriously."

The Internet has somewhat become people's personal therapist. Emotions are plastered on the Internet and its become a listening tool for those who need it. As Hathaway said, the technological abilities people have today are immaculate, yet the information that's posted online are futile and nobody is doing anything with it. In the project, the sounds are warped and reverberated to create a drastic emotional effect on the audience.
