Fearsome Naval Vessels

The Lockheed Martin-Built Sea Slice is Up For Sale

The Sea Slice is an experimental naval vessel, built by Lockheed Martin, that is available for sale for only $180,000. This price is actually pretty low when you take into the fact that it took around $15 million to design and build the vehicle.

The Sea Slice uses a variation on the SWATH (Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull) design -- regular SWATH boats have two cataraman-style hulls, while the Sea Slice's hulls are akin to cylindrical pontoons situated below the surface. In fact, it has four such hulls.

There's no word yet on how many people the vessel will have room for, though it is expected to be able to welcome around six guests.

Ultimately, this vessel takes a unique take on the indulgent luxury yacht.
