These Sculptures of Hands Bring Awareness to Pedestrians

In Barcelona, four artists have created random sculptures of hands as a symbolic reference and to bring awareness to problems surrounding the conflict in Spain.

The installation is called ‘Hands’ and features white sculpted hands in various poses situated in random public places. These begging hands are places beside cardboard signs that read ‘Help Spain’ and ‘Help Art’ and are placed deliberately on top of ATMs.

These hands are in place to bring attention to the economical crisis in Spain, which is causing an insurmountable of suffering amongst those living in the country. Along with this muted protest, there are many other ones that are being done to bring awareness to the privatization of public services and political corruption.
