Lyrical Avian Shawls

The 47 Birds Scarf Style is a Wearable and Visual Work of Poetry

Martin Azua hailing from Barcelona is the designer behind this lyrical scarf style, dubbed 47 Birds. The shawl is both a wearable fashion piece and a work of poetry offering a visual interpretation that captures the scenic view of birds from outside Azua's window.

The delicate scarf design features a collection of hand-drawn birds from all sorts of angles and positions plastered across elegant white crepe silk. Each bird is designed by hand and inspired by birds Azua would watch from his window. The artist describes the process as, "From the window of my studio I’ll watch birds, then I’ll draw them by memory trying to reproduce the infinite forms that they describe in the space." The movement and freeform of the scarf captures the essence of the birds as well.
