Sand by Yukihiro Kaneuchi is a Selection of Shaped Sand Vases

Sand by Yukihiro Kaneuchi is a collection of vases created by Kaneuchi using only raw materials and sand. The design concept behind the vases was based off of a vintage Japanese game that the designer used to play as a kid. In the game, the vases are shaped like mounds of sand that has a pole jammed in the centre. The objective of the game is to get players to take turns removing sand until the pole falls. In this case, the the vase's centre is stable and will not fall.

The vase was created without a glass centre, which is an unconventional way of making a vase. The Sand by Yukihiro Kaneuchi vases were instead created from resin, so the centre will no disintegrate when exposed to water. The primitive and minimalist design is great for anyone looking to spruce up their home with a classic yet unique design.
