The Sammy Slabbinck Mixed Media Series is Comical

Sammy Slabbinck's mixed media artwork is rather comical. He combines a fun remix of pop culture references mixed with vintage imagery. The artist is heavily influenced by old vintage magazines from the 50s through to the 70s, which is why he predominately likes to incorporate that into his artwork (but with a modern twist).

Slabbinck's artwork is eye-catching because of his creative use of color and object placement. What particularly caught my eye was the photo replicating Google Maps. The playful mix of old school photos and new-age technologies is a juxtaposition that isn't commonly seen.
