The Runway Studios luxury salon is housed in a retired airplane as a way to offer opulent pampering services to customers in an unlikely environment. The new salon was founded by makeup artist Amber Scott in Carluke, Lanarkshire and is within a retired 1957 Air Atlantique Convair CV-440 Metropolitan airplane that was purchased by her parents as a gift about 10 years ago. The airplane was upgraded by Scott to accommodate four makeup artists, two hairdressers and even a nail technician to offer luxury services that are offered in the unlikely atmosphere.
The Runway Studios salon was created with an eco-conscious approach to upcycle a plane that would otherwise be scrapped, while also offering a truly unique spot for clients to have their services done.
