The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator is Ready to Take Flight

The Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection is the first and only luxury sedan to take design cues from a seaplane. The seaplane that inspired this limited edition is the Supermarine 6B. What makes the seaplane so special is the fact that it won the 1931 Schneider Trophy, a race put on to find the world's fastest seaplane, with a Rolls-Royce engine in it.

In addition to the Supermarine 6B having a Rolls-Royce engine, the company's co-founder, Charles Rolls, was also a big fan of flying. The exterior of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe Aviator Collection has what the automaker calls an Aviator Grey finish. The interior of the car is covered in mahogany wood and brown leather, highlighted by a Thommen aviation-grade clock installed in the dash. No price has been announced, but it has been confirmed that only 35 of these will be made.
