The Robot Quadrotors Perform James Bond With No Conductor

In this video from the University of Pennsylvania, a group of robot quadrotors perform the James Bond theme song to a tee. The entire band of flying robots is completely controlled by a computer program and has absolutely no direction from any human.

A small cluster of flying robots hovers above a keyboard and, when instructed by the computer lowers, themselves to hit a key. When timing is involved, the notes string together to form the bass line for the James Bond theme song. Once the bass line has picked up, another robot begins to keep the beat by tapping on a symbol. Finally, another group of hovercrafts sweeps across a contraption of metal cords to create the melody.

The Robot Quadrotors Perform James Bond Theme video is just a basic example of what emerging technology is capable of. It may not be long before the entire New York Philharmonic Orchestra is made up of robots.
