Robot Bartender HoLLiE Works With a Human Team to Make Cocktails

This human and robot bartender team are able to fulfill cocktail orders that are sent in via tablet. HoLLiE addresses concerns many have about robotics replacing human jobs by having the machine and living person working alongside each other. At a party in Berlin, Germany, they made more than 280 alcoholic beverages for guests.

Cocktail-making machine HoLLiE has two anthropomorphic hands, with five fingers each. Its arms can move independently of each other and complete tasks such as emptying glasses with the right and holding them up with the left to add spirits and infusions. With the assistance of people, finishing touches like added alcohol and straws can be made.

The robot bartender can also communicate in German and shake hands.
