RoboEarth is the World Wide Web for Robots to Share Information

As part of a four year project, RoboEarth has been created by a group of scientists that imitates the World Wide Web for humans, but for robots.

The system is an intricate and expansive network that will allow robots to share newly-learned skills and information between each other. The project is currently funded by the European Union and works to attempt to replace the need for humans in performing complicated tasks.

"A task like opening a box of pills can be shared on RoboEarth, so other robots can also do it without having to be programmed for that specific type of box," says Rene Van de Molengraft of RoboEarth on how the system works as an online platform for the sharing of information between robots.
