Seen here are a myriad of drawings in which Nadeshico channels ancient Japanese woodblock aesthetics in order to render images you would expect to see in modern day anime. Schoolgirls in uniforms wielding weapons, interacting with fantastical animals and playing musical instruments are among Nadeschico’s favorite things to depict.
What’s remarkable about Rin Nadeshico’s work is that the images look really authentic. If you were to simply glance at these pictures, you may be fooled into thinking centuries-old art magically featured anachronistic items. My personal favorite among these illustrations has got to be the Japanese schoolgirls frolicking about with the Loch Ness monster.
